This just in: The Beatles have broken up. And it was John Lennon’s fault, according to a new interview with (who else?) Paul McCartney.
In a story straight from the Department Of Stuff We Sort Of Already Knew But Never Really Cared That Much About Anyway, McCartney is quoted as saying: “John walked into the room one day and said, ‘I’m leaving The Beatles.’ And he said, ‘It’s quite thrilling. It’s rather like a divorce.’ And then we were left to pick up the pieces.” To which Eric Alper and I say: Yeah, and … ? on today’s segment of Sonic Reducers. Listen in as we discuss Paul’s unnecessary claim, wonder why he felt the need to point it out in the first place, and discuss other instances of Beatles revisionist history. Sonic Reducers. One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
