I know, I know: It’s a little late in the day to be posting this. Especially since I didn’t even bother to do one of these on Friday morning, after some of these clips aired. But hey, I’ve been busy rooting through nearly 200 Christmas albums — along with trying to have the occasional semblance of a personal life. But then I watched The Weeknd’s second appearance of the week on Stephen Colbert’s show and figured what the heck. Between his two eye-catching spots and Camila Cabello’s performance on Jimmy Fallon’s show the other day, we’ve got a real optical-illusion theme going here. With that in mind, check out Abel Tesfaye’s mirror-box version of Blinding Lights above, follow him into The Late Show basement for a cleverly edited performance of Heartless below, then try not to get weirded out by the flower people in in Cabello’s version of Living Proof from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Just for shiggles, I also included another equally pink version of the same song — complete with choir — from Friday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show. And finally, there’s Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks’ version of Romance from Jimmy Kimmel Live. You can make your own optical illusion jokes about that one.
