Classic Album Review: The Blue Van | The Art of Rolling

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

A singer with a Prince Valiant ‘do. A drummer who bashes like Keith Moon. A keyboard player who sounds like he learned to play by listening to 96 Tears and Deep Purple’s Jon Lord. Vintage gear and tube amps. And, best of all, a whole slew of beat-crazy, riff-laced garage-rock hookfests that sound like The Kinks circa ’65. What is not to love? Keep on rolling, boys.
