Classic Album Review: Nagisa Ni Te | Dream Sounds

This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Their name means On The Beach — and yes, it’s a nod to Neil Young. But if you expect a Japanese-rock Crazy Horse, guess again.

Psychedelic folk-pop outfit Nagisa Ni Te hew closer to the strummy, dreamy end of Young’s spectrum — though they do crank up the guitars and speak the universal language of noise now and then. The four cuts on this 40-minute disc are re-recorded versions of older works, making this sort of a best-of that never was. Which makes about as much sense as anything to do with this band.
