This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
They’re from Sweden. They’ve got shaggy hair, skinny ties and old guitars. And they’ve clearly spent quality time in the garage with the Nuggets box.
But on their second CD Hurricane Bar, retro foursome Mando Diao brush aside the inevitable Hives comparisons with scrappy post-punk cribbed from The Clash’s fake book, not to mention old-school Britpop nicked from The Fab Four (or at least Oasis).
