This came out in 2005 — or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
If you dig the gritty roots-rock of early Steve Earle, Austin’s Reckless Kelly have a swell new disc called Wicked Twisted Road that’s right up your alley.
And if you dig that, snag this new reissue of their 1997 debut Millican (presumably named for their Orgeon home town). It dishes up 11 decent slices of strum ’n’ twang, decorated by Cody Braun’s fiddle, mandolin and harp, and fuelled by brother Willy’s raspy pipes and songcraft.
FIRST RELEASED: 1997.
HIGHLIGHTS: Raw, raucous cuts like Back Around and Waiting On The Blues, and backporch ballads like Black & White and Hatax.
EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Sadly, none — though having this disc back in circulation is probabaly bonus enough.
