Madison Olds knows there’s more to life than money her sweet new single and lyric video Rich In Dreams — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
The young B.C. singer-songwriter’s latest release is a spry little folk-pop gem fashioned from a slate of scratchy, strummy and shimmery guitars, a four-on-the-floor bass drum, Olds’ earthy vocals and life-affirming lyrics that make clear those who want nothing truly have everything:
“I count my coins for gas and bread
But I count my blessings too
I warm my home with sunrise glow
In the mornings gentle dew
No fancy car no penthouse view
Just a humble little place…
Because I’m dirt poor but I’m rich in dreams
And I’m chasing stars I’m not chasing schemes
And in this life where nothing’s sure
The less it costs I want it more.”
Olds knows a little about chasing dreams — and having them come true. A fixture on the Canadian music scene since 2019, the Kamloops artist has achieved significant personal and professional milestones in recent years. Her song Moments In The Mountains was selected as the Fairmont Pacific Rim’s theme song. She was honoured with iHeart Radio’s Future Star award for 2020/2021. She raised $100k on TikTok (where she has 390,000 followers and 13.4 million likes) for stem cell treatments.
She has amassed 10 million streams on Spotify, including four million streams for Moments In The Mountains and more than one million for her 2022 holiday EP. Her songs have appeared in Pretty Little Things in the U.K., she has performed in Hallmark’s Making Waves, and she has shared stages with the likes of Willie Nelson, Kacey Musgraves and Tate McRae. Madison’s performances at the Singapore Music Matters Festival and Toronto Indie Music Fridays highlight the expanding horizons of her career.
