Classic Album Reviews: AC/DC | Let There Be Rock / Powerage / For Those About to Rock We Salute You / Who Made Who / The Razors Edge Reissues

Sony's second batch of Acca Dacca reissues features no bonus tracks, sadly.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

THE ORIGINAL RELEASE DATES: 1977; 1978; 1981; 1986; 1990.

THE BACK STORY: When these veteran metal gods jumped ship from Warner to Sony last year, they brought along their back catalog — which their new label has been reissuing in spiffy digipak editions.

THE GOODIES: These five discs — the second batch in the series — include the band’s second and third North American albums with original frontman Bon Scott, who screeches bona fide classics like Dog Eat Dog, Bad Boy Boogie, Problem Child, Whole Lotta Rosie and Sin City. For those who enjoy his leather-lunged replacement Brian Johnson, the other titles in the set offer stadium-rock headbangers like Let’s Get It Up, Inject The Venom, Thunderstruck and Moneytalks.

THE EXTRAS: Each disc comes with a booklet loaded with liner notes and pictures. No extra tracks, sadly.
