Katelyn Biehn Is Daydreamin’ About You In Latest Single & Video

The Ontario pop singer returns after two years with a charming comeback track.

Katelyn Biehn has you on her mind in her romantically mellow single and video Daydreamin’ — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Picking up where she left off after two years away, the Ontario singer’s comeback single is a beautiful blend of the pop and R&B genres. The guitar and bass-driven instrumentals are complemented by Katelyn’s smooth delivery, perfect pitch and mellow demeanour.

“You know that moment when you see a total stranger and in your mind you imagine walking up to them confidently and introducing yourself and then the rest is history?” she says. “Daydreamin’ is that idea played out in someone’s mind. Who doesn’t love a romantic love at first sight story? A first love that lasts the rest of their lives.” The song came about just as casually, she explains: “I started out with a fun beat just sitting around in my living room, I began making up a story with my friends and then Daydreamin’ was born.”

Biehn’s own musical story began at the age of four — as a drummer, surprisingly enough. Though she still plays today, banging toms and snares eventually led her to pick up a guitar and start writing her own music. She entered an abundance of talent shows and landed herself in the recording studio with Nashville musicians by the time she was 17. Those sessions inevitably led to her collaboration with Benji and the release of Spark, her 2017 single. It was followed by the EP Ready, which features five original tracks, including the singles Worth Fighting For and Supposed to Be.

The Ontarian’s songs offer vulnerable and heartfelt snapshots with her satiny vocals over energetic grooves infused by faith. Her inspirations range from John Mayer and H.E.R. to Justin Bieber — whose Grammy-nominated vocal coach Mama Jan is working with Biehn to draw out the full textures of her voice.
