Kat Velasco Is Fired Up Over A Burning Man

The Nashville country-pop singer’s new single carries the torch for self-expression.

Kat Velasco braves the flames of reinvention in her new single Burning Man — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The up-and-coming pop artist’s new single is a courageous exploration of self-expression and perseverance, inspired by personal struggles and experiences that highlight the transformative nature of adversity. Sharing a title with the iconic festival, Burning Man dives into the artistic freedom and metaphorical “burning” of one’s old self to make way for new growth.

“It’s a completely different sound than I have ever done, but also the project I am the most proud of,” she says. “The idea of Burning Man surrounds every single person’s daily struggle. Life is a constant battle that we all have to overcome and I think this song brings a very different perspective on that.”

The song’s emotional depth, paired with infectious melodies and energizing guitar riffs, allows fans to connect with the themes of personal transformation and resilience. “Burning Man is a reflection of where I am right now, it’s about letting go of what no longer serves you, even if it hurts, and finding strength in the ashes. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever had to rebuild themselves,” Velasco states.

Produced in Nashville by Danny Zee and Cooper Galyon at Broken Door Studios, Burning Man intertwines raw heartache and the catharsis of healing, creating an evocative narrative that resonates deeply. Velasco’s fusion of country twang and pop-leaning vocals emulates her sound, which feels refreshing and timeless.

Born and raised in South Carolina and based in Nashville, Velasco is a country-pop artist whose passion for music blossomed in her early years through a rich background in musical theater. After beginning to release her music in 2021, her single Leave Me Wild has garnered significant attention. After opening for numerous artists like Love And Theft, Breland, David Nail and Tierra Kennedy, Velasco is set to perform at festivals at the end of this year alongside Megan Moroney, Jon Pardi and Chase Rice.
