Soulganic celebrate the joy of Family Ties with the help of trumpeter Stan Odell Graham in their jubilant new instrumental single and animated video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
The first preview of the acclaimed North Carolina combo’s upcoming album Phosphene, Family Ties is testament to Soulganic’s signature sound — an eclectic mix of alternative soul, jazz, and funk, with a hint of Afrobeat. Infused with an intricate groove, playful instrumentation and a tinge of musical fire — and highlighted by the soaring sounds of renowned jazz / funk trumpeter Graham (Foreign Exchange, Little Brother) — Family Ties creates a vibrant musical landscape that encapsulates the essence of Soulganic’s innovative and eclectic flair.
“We wanted Family Ties to capture the essence of our musical journey, and the musical journey of humanity itself, looking back to the dawn of rhythm and self-expression,” says bassist and lead vocalist Anthony Rodriguez. “Our collaboration with Stan brought an incredible energy and authenticity to the track. We feel it’s a perfect introduction to the sound and spirit of Phosphene.”
As the lead single from the album, Family Ties gives fans and new listeners alike a taste of what Soulganic have in store. Due in October 2024, Phosphene finds the Charlotte trio exploring new territories while staying true to their groove-centric core. Listeners can expect a rich tapestry of sounds where each track contributes to a larger, genre-defying narrative.
Along with Rodriguez, Soulganic stars guitarist Ryan McKeithan and drummer Cory McClure. The trio have been captivating audiences since 2005 with their high-energy performances and eclectic sound.
