Classic Album Review: Blinker The Star | Still in Rome

What is Jordon Zadorozny doing wrong? Not a damn thing, judging by this album.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Blinker the Star’s Jordon Zadorozny has got to be wondering what he’s doing wrong.

For years, this ridiculously gifted multi-tasker has been hanging out at the gates of fame — he’s written songs with Courtney Love; he produced Sam Roberts’ breakthrough EP; he played on Mandy Moore’s latest CD, for cryin’ out loud — but for some reason, he just can’t get manage to slip past the velvet rope. Well, if his fourth album doesn’t get him into the VIP room once and for all, nothing will. A turbo-charged blast of crunching power-chord guitar riffs, fist-pumping beats, flawless glam-pop hooks and Zadorozny’s Paul Stanleyesque pipes, Still In Rome delivers 10 of the best songs that KISS, Ozzy Osbourne and David Bowie never wrote. And it’s made even more impressive by the fact that JZ played pretty much everything. But back to that question: Just what the heck is he doing wrong? Judging by Still In Rome, not a damn thing.
