Classic DVD Review: They Might Be Giants | Gigantic: A Tale Of Two Johns

Get acquainted with one of the greatest bands most people have never heard.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

They have put out about a dozen albums of witty, infectious pop. They wrote the theme songs for The Daily Show and Malcolm In The Middle. They even became MTV mainstays with Don’t Let’s Start and Istanbul (Not Constantinople).

But if you look up cult band in the dictionary, don’t be suprised if you see a pic of John Flansburgh and John Linnell, aka They Might Be Giants. Instead, buy the engaging DVD Gigantic, wherein you’ll see more than four hours of live performances, video clips and documentary footage on one of the greatest bands most people have still never heard. Let’s start.
