Natasha Kitty Katt Does The Batt Danse With Billy Wirth

The intergalactic Disco Vampire and The Lost Boy get down in her spooky single.

Natasha Kitty Katt teaches you the Batt Danse in her groovy new single and spooky new animated video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Clearly, Natasha Kitty Katt is not your average DJ and producer; she’s an otherworldly force and an Intergalactic Disco Vampire. To celebrate her (unsurprisingly) favourite holiday Halloween, Natasha treats you to the Batt Danse, featuring vocals by Billy Wirth from the 1987 cult classic vampire film The Lost Boys.

“As a lover of all things vamps, The Lost Boys is a standout film for me,” Natasha says. “Give me ’80s, vampires and a killer soundtrack and you have one happy Katt. When I composed Batt Danse, I could visualize a tribute to my beloved vampires, as well as paying tribute to the Danse Macabre. I wanted something with a creepy electronic edge.

“I filmed the video for Batt Danse with No Reel Productions — including the genius behind the animations, Scott Kempik, alongside some additional creative work from the wonderful Craig Matthewman. Billy brought out his full Dwayne character for the role. You can hear his vampiric tones and passion as he steps back into his iconic role. The whole team was a dream to work with and they made my nightmare a reality!”

A dream collaboration for Natasha, and a real feast for the ears, the collaboration came about when her friend Kevin Wells of No Reel heard the track and said, ‘We need to get one of the original vampires on this.’ Kevin then put Natasha in touch with Wirth, who played Dwanye in The Lost Boys.

“Billy has been an absolute joy to work with and is one of the nicest guys ever,” Natasha says. “He recorded his vocal sections remotely in L.A. He went full on vampire, doing a spoken-word part in the style of my beloved Vincent Price. I’ve always wanted to write my love letter to vampires and all things creepy, and this is it. I’m a huge horror fan and i’ve always loved that ’80s synth, Italo-style sound, so it was only natural that I would combine the two. I never imagined I would get the opportunity to work with Billy Wirth, but here we are. The fact that I have created something that will be immortalized with a Lost Boy is a dream come true.”

With her hypnotic beats and ethereal melodies, Natasha transports listeners to a cosmic dance floor where time and space dissolve into a groovy, pulsating journey. Born on a starry night, Natasha emerged from the cosmic mist, destined to bring the essence of disco to the farthest reaches of the universe. Her magnetic presence and extraordinary talent have earned her a reputation as one of the most enigmatic figures in the electronic music scene.

Natasha’s musical odyssey began at a young age, immersed in a kaleidoscope of genres. As she honed her skills, her signature sound evolved — a fusion of funk, soul, and disco with a futuristic twist. Her sets are an auditory experience, an invitation to journey through galaxies of sound, and an exploration of the depths of human emotion. Intergalactic Disco Vampire perfectly encapsulates Natasha’s artistic persona. She’s a creature of the night, a nocturnal explorer of sonic realms, and a purveyor of infectious rhythms. Her music is both timeless and otherworldly, offering an escape from the mundane into a realm of celestial dance.

Batt Danse will feature on Natasha’s upcoming album Synaptic Juice, coming on F*CLR in 2024. Watch the video for Batt Danse above, hear more from Natasha Kitty Katt below, and follow her on Instagram.
