This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
You can’t make a record if you ain’t got nothing to say.
Willie Nelson wrote that 30 years ago — back when he still had something to say. But if Outlaws & Angels — his latest in a lengthening string of pointless, star-studded, self-congratulatory, cash-grab live albums — is anything to go by, Willie was wrong. Or lying. Either way, he should say he’s sorry.
