Rooted Lovingly Return To The Heart Of This Place

The L.A. pop-rock quintet offer a sparkling ode to the irrestible pull of love and L.A.

Rooted recapture love in the Heart Of This Place in their sparkling new single and video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

An ode to the irresistible lure of love and Los Angeles, the young West Coast pop-rock band’s latest single invites listeners on a journey through the bustling streets of their home, capturing the essence of love, friendship, and the magic of the city. Working with Bernard Yagee (songwriter and producer of the track), the catchy hooks and uplifting energy serves as an anthem for anyone who has found solace and belonging in the vibrant heart of a bustling metropolis:

“Lights ignite the night
A world of love in sight
Made a friend under the stars
Back again, no more hours apart
I’m here to stay
Don’t go away
Reunited, once again
In L.A., long as you’re with me
Dreams awake in the heart of this place.”

Set against a backdrop of shimmering lights and starlit skies, the song paints a picture of reunion and celebration. Singer / guitarists Maddox Lim and Genevieve Thai deliver emotive vocals backed by the band’s signature blend of pop and rock, creating a sonic landscape that is both nostalgic and exhilarating.

With its infectious energy and heartfelt lyrics, Heart Of This Place is poised to become a standout track in Rooted’s impressive discography. The song’s release coincides with AAPI Heritage Month, adding an extra layer of significance to its message of unity and belonging.

“The world is becoming more and more chaotic, not only by the wars we’re witnessing, but also by the habits we’re adapting where most of our core principles and values are being diluted to an extent where they’re about to cease to exist,” says songwriter and producer Yagee. “I wrote this song for Rooted to awaken the younger generation about those values and what actually truly matters, that is family, strong bonds, and togetherness.”

Rooted are a five-member indie pop-rock band from the Los Angeles suburbs of the San Gabriel Valley. The Asian-American quintet of high school students has built a substantial following with performances at carnivals, street fairs, school events, battles of the bands, and onstage at the massive Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona to commemorate AAPI month.

Lim and Thai are the band’s co-founders, now joined by Eula Johnson on keyboards, bassist Alex Calanzo and Joshua Sang on drums. The five evolved as a band while performing covers by not only current artists like Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift but play a multitude of ’80s and ’90s covers — what they classify as “older music with a lot of depth and meaning.”
