This came out in 1999 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
The soundtrack to Beavis & Butt-Head bigwig Mike Judge’s corporate-drone comedy probably began as a labour of love — getting fly rappers like Canibus and Kool Keith to rework job cuts like 9-5, Big Boss Man and Take This Job And Shove It.
And at first, it all works like a new intern on probation. Then, suddenly (like the film itself), this soundtrack devolves into cheap crime comedy from The Geto Boys, Ice Cube and Scarface. In other words, like most corporate strategies, it seems like a great idea that ended up cobbled together on deadline.
