Released in Canada in February 1998, I, Bificus delivered an infectious, eclectic blend of raucous power-pop hooks, emotive and raw lyricism, with old-school punk attitude Bif always brought to the table.
What better way to celebrate the lasting power of this record — and, of course, Bif herself — than with a 25th anniversary edition? I, Bificus XXV features the completely remastered original album — highlighted by the singles Spaceman, Moment of Weakness, Lucky and Chotee — along with new bonus acoustic mixes and an orchestral version of Lucky.
Speaking of getting lucky, let’s not forget that Buffy lost her virginity as Bif and her bandmates performed Lucky on Buffy The Vampire Slayer in 1999. But luck had little to do with the inevitable success of the Glenn Rosenstein-produced I, Bificus, which catapulted the Winnipeg-raised singer-songwriter to superstardom internationally, multiple gold records, followed by multiple platinum records, and set her on a course of global fame (and infamy).
