Classic DVD Review: Holly McNarland | Live At The Great Hall

The powerhouse vocalist offers an intensely emotional set — when you can see her.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

The former Winnipeg singer-songwriter’s powerful voice and intensely emotional songs are almost too big for the tiny stage in Toronto’s misleadingly named Great Hall, an intimate facility where this set was captured just a couple of months before release. Too bad even Holly McNarland can’t overpower the insanely overzealous lighting that renders her all but invisible for much of the set.
