Get Out™ Protest The Violation of Terms and Conditions

The recharged L.A. punks come out swinging on their eighth studio full-length.

Get Out™ continue to fight the good fight with their new album The Violation of Terms and Conditions — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The long-running (and recently revaped) L.A. punk foursome display their knack for heavy hooks, pummeling rhythms, devilish lyrical wit and an unfiltered rebellious spirit on their latest full-length. Founded in the mid-’90s, Get Out™ have had a long and storied career thus far, having released eight albums and shared the stage with bands like Voodoo Glowskulls, Streetlight Manifesto and Suburban Legends. In songs like Rotten Apple, The Right Is Wrong and The End Of Florida, Get Out™ have no shortage of grievances to air out on this dynamic new collection.

“When we released our last album We Were Here First in 2019, it was taken off Apple Music after one week because Apple claimed our album art ‘violated the terms and conditions,’ ” the band say. “After we changed the artwork and resubmitted, Apple Music listed it as Metal (it is not) and placed it under a different artist of the same name (we’ve had this name since 1994). We have tried to contact our distributor as well as Apple Music so many times and no one will respond to us about it. The first song written for the album Rotten Apple is a criticism of a corrupt corporation that only cares about the elite. Other tracks were inspired by the pandemic of 2020 as well as the state of affairs in our country and society.”

Get Out™ were founded in the halls of Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles. It took a long while for the band to find their style, exploring many of the different popular rock idioms of the time. They released Their Self Titled Debut Album in 2001, followed by Better Than The Last One in 2003, Still Not Famous in 2004 and Back Despite Popular Demand in 2007. By this point, their jobs starting getting in the way. The band spent seven years making their acoustic album Offending You Gently, followed by what was meant to be their last album Thank You And Goodnight in 2012. They played their last show the same year. And that’s where it ends. But also where it begins.

Get Out™ officially came back, revamped, with their seventh album We Were Here First in 2019. It was mixed by J.P. Peters (Propaghandhi’s Victory Lap). After the pandemic hiatus, they have been playing live shows again. It’s been electrifying. It’s been a long journey fueled on determination and belief.
