Classic Album Review: Michael Bolton | Vintage

The former mullethead takes a page from Rod's Great American Songbook series.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

A set of Tin Pan Alley oldies like Summertime, All The Way and Smile, saccharinely orchestrated and crooningly covered by one of the most annoying twits in music.

No, it’s not the new Rod Stewart record — though it is probably Rod’s fault for giving milquetoast wonder Michael Bolton the idea for Vintage. Not that unoriginality is anything new coming from this former mullethead. On the plus side, though, he isn’t trying to claim authorship of The Very Thought of You.
