Paul Manchin Makes The First Move

The EDM artist & singer-songwriter feels nostalgic on his new single and video.

Paul Manchin gives you the First taste of his upcoming album Master with his latest single and video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

While visiting his family and reflecting on his life, the EDM artist and singer-songwriter was transported back to his childhood, and did what he does — picked up a pen and sat down at the piano to express his thoughts. Later, he and producer Black Jack crafted his creation into the track First. The single is accompanied by an equally provocative video that shows the gestation of a child in the womb, touching on birth, the future and daily life.

The rest of Master — a two-disc compilation of 40 new and previously released recordings — promises to strike an equally powerful and personal chord with many listeners as it explores relationships, identity, rebirth, loss, mortality, time, love and heartbreak.

“My greatest goal is to create energy and a soul that is prepared to be free. My music has always been about diversity, and I have a love for all people,” he says. “When I bring an album to life it has to create some kind of meaning.”

Manchin’s musical journey started when he was five years old, after his sister asked him to write a song for her French teacher called Ferme la Bouche (Shut Your Mouth). Since that humble beginning, he has released a slate of digital albums, culminating in his 2020 release Don’t Love You Anymore.

His music has aired on radio and television stations across Canada and around the world, and been included in multiple compilations. Producers on Master include David Bottrill, Moe Berg, Chris Briscoe, Brent Bodrug, Denzil Remedios, Black Jack and Manchin. Remixers include Jack D. Elliot and Spyros Poulos.
