Take it from John Mayer, who called Posen one of his favourite players. Or artists from Tom Jones to Butch Walker who have hired him. Or Rolling Stone, who dubbed him a modern-day guitar hero. Or even Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, where he recently performed alongside the lies of Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Carlos Santana and others. Unfortunately, the Winnipeg-raised musician doesn’t get the same degree of attention for his songwriting. But his third album Reasons Why might change that. Thanks to the pandemic, Posen had more time than ever to devote to songwriter, and he made the most of of, turning in the sharpest and strongest work of his career so far.
