Tinnitist TV | Episode 83: Ian Jones

The Seattle singer-songwriter discusses his debut LP, the good old days & more.

Ian Jones has just released his first album Results Not Typical. But to call him a new artist would be a stretch.

Like countless musicians before him, the Seattle singer-songwriter spent decades playing in bands, touring, doing studio sessions and generally slogging it out in the trenches of the music biz before finally deciding to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight. All that time and experience informs every track on the fittingly titled Results Not Typical, a set of rootsy singer-songwriter fare that will appeal to fans of Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Nanthiel Rateliff and other openhearted troubadours. Recorded in California with producer Jesse Siebenberg and a cast of first-call players, it’s a great introduction to an artist whose time has finally come. A few weeks before the album dropped, Jones Zoomed in from the Pacific Northwest to talk about taking his shot, the good old days of Seattle, smoking with Jim Messina and more. Enjoy.
