the della kit is looking for some Clarity on Valentine’s Day with her seductive new single and video — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
A smouldering neo-soul jam set to a tantalizingly slow groove, the romantically irresistible number seals the deal with the aid of a nimbly playful bassline, twinkling piano, sexy sax and mischievous keyboard flourishes — all topped with rich, smoky vocals that pose the eternal question: “Is this falling in love? Or is this creative chemistry?” The answer, of course, is that it’s both — and also a song that’s made for your boudoir playlist. And speaking of boudoirs, if the sensual video doesn’t put you in the mood to spend the day between the sheets with your significant other, some chocolate-dipped strawberries and a plate of shared cupcakes, nothing will.
With the intention to nourish, soothe and empower the voices of her listeners, the della kit’s journey started at the age of 16 with healing and curiosity at the core of her artistic work. She is a gifted singer, songwriter, producer, DJ and voice teacher. Improvising and circle singing is how the della kit connects the community through collaboration.
Inspired by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Jill Scott and Joni Mitchell, the della kit’s music oozes jazz-inspired neo-soul with evocative stories of healing and self-love. She was born into a lineage of Italian and Jewish jazz musicians from Boston and New York , then uprooted and raised by hippies amongst the evergreens and mountain beds of British Columbia. It is through music and nature that the della kit found her sense of belonging.
Raw and dynamic, the della kit creates to share reflective, playful and tender inspiration. Her career has taken her all over the world, with many releases and features. Under her alias Erica Dee, she has supported artists such as Miguel, Questlove and Nneka while performing and coaching internationally, breaking bread and building family along the way.
