Kim Cypher helps us find a path through these Crazy Times with her jubilant new single and video — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

Though the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact billions of lives around the globe, the jazzy U.K. sax player, singer and songwriter is spreading positivity, hope and escapism with her lockdown-inspired cut — while delivering some sound advice at the same time.

“Crazy crazy times, these are crazy crazy times,” Kim repeats in the upbeat, saxophone-driven chorus, before sharing a thought-provoking spoken-word passage about how “compassion” and “kindness” are the key elements to effectively surviving “the new normal.”

The optimistic tone is reflected in the Latin-grooved tune’s video, which sees Kim, her husband and drummer Mike Cypher and a number of happy-go-lucky locals dancing together in a colourful, graffiti-decorated underpass in the Cyphers’ hometown of Cheltenham, England.

Though she’s been an avid jazz musician since childhood, Kim only debuted as a solo artist in 2016 with her album Make Believe, which was followed the next year by Love Kim X. Though live shows are a distant memory, Kim has continued to perform online while collaborating with a host of U.K. and U.S. jazz artists on her YouTube series of Twilight Jazz Sessions.
