Late-Night TV Music (Going Places Edition) | Sept. 23, 2020

Yusuf, Anitta, Alicia and Tim are all on the move. You and me? Not so much.

You and I may be stuck in the house, but Wednesday’s Late-Night TV Music lineup definitely had places to be. Yusuf / Cat Stevens took to the coffeehouse — a bit on the nose, admittedly — to serve up his newly jazzed-up version of Wild World for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Brazilian star Anitta went to the foot of Rio’s Christ The Redeemer statue with her dance crew (and virtual versions of Cardi B and Myke Towers) to light up Me Gusta on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Tim McGraw and his band set up shop in what appeared to be some sort of palatial parlour — but is probably just his spare room — to croon I Called Mama on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And Alicia Keys took to the CBS parking lot once again to continue her Late Late Show With James Corden residency by waltzing through Gramercy Park with Bebe Rexha. As for me, I moved to the far-left cushion of the couch today. Tomorrow, I may venture into the side chair. Sigh.
