Dakota 66 deliver a winning number with their memorable new pop-rock anthem Remember Me — showcasing today on Tinnitist.
A poignant reflection on life’s true values and the power of personal impact, the Irish indie band’s latest single is part of a series of releases leading up to their sophomore album, set to drop at the end of the year.
Following the success of previous singles Deja Vu and Rise, Remember Me continues to showcase Dakota 66’s signature blend of thoughtful lyrics, evocative melodies, and dynamic instrumentation. The song is a reflective memo on what truly matters in life, encouraging listeners to “remember what I say to you / Love can come and fill the room,” emphasizing that life is not merely something that happens to you, but something you can shape through your actions.
“Remember Me is not what you got but what you give to get a lot,” the band lyrically convey, encapsulating the essence of the song’s message. The melody and vocal harmonies, carefully crafted by Dakota 66, weave a musical conversation that is both introspective and uplifting, all backed by a driving beat that propels the song forward.
“Our goal has always been to create music that connects with people on a profound level,” they say. “We want our listeners to feel something beyond melody or rhythm — to see into the soul of our music and into us as a band.”
This ethos is at the heart of Remember Me and the forthcoming album, which promises to redefine the relationship between artist and fan through its raw, emotional storytelling. Throughout the upcoming album, Dakota 66 remain true to their core, seamlessly blending thoughtful vocals, expressive percussion, and skillful guitar riffs. The result is an authentic journey through the band’s shared experiences and unique perspectives, promising a well-rounded emotional exploration that allows them to connect with their audience on a deeply human level.
The track was produced by Dakota 66 and Cian Boylan of Camden Recording Studios (Hozier, Rufus Wainwright, Bryan Adams).
Hailing from Dublin, Dakota 66 is composed of J Gallagher (vocals), Brian Grace (guitar), Brian Curran (bass) and Thomas Leonard (drums). Drawing on influences from iconic bands like The National, R.E.M., Radiohead and songwriters such as Bob Dylan and Sam Fender, Dakota 66 have spent the last decade honing a sound that is entirely their own. Their music is a riveting blend of nostalgia and narrative, creating a sonic rollercoaster that resonates with listeners. Last year, the band released their debut album If Not Now, When.
