Next Week in Music | Aug. 12-18 • On TV

Now that the Olympics are over, the talk shows are making up for all that lost time.

Sometimes the stars just align. For instance: Lately I’ve been spelunking in the catalog of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, because they’re one of those bands I always feel I should listen to more often. So imagine my joyful surprise at finding out that Cave is slated to visit Stephen Colbert on Tuesday. I don’t know if he will be accompanied by any Bad Seeds, or if he’ll even be performing and not just chatting. But I don’t care; I’m there. I will also be in attendance for Lawrence, Jeff Goldblum, Waxahatchee, teenage guitar heroine Grace Bowers, and docs on San Francisco’s Aquarius Records and Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart (assuming I can find ’em streaming). Now that the Olympics are done, let’s make up for lost time:
