When it comes to working with pop artists, there’s no denying that I am extraordinarily picky.”
Mike G’s persistence led him to discover Leyla Blue, whose exceptional talent and unique artistic vision resonated deeply with him. “One of my boys that does management for me linked me with Leyla and her team, suggesting her for the record, and I was blown away when I heard her music.” Blue’s remarkable ability to craft compelling music seamlessly blending songwriting prowess with contemporary appeal solidified her as the perfect collaborator for Me And You.
“She’s completely in her own lane with her approach, and she’s one of the few artists I’ve heard that can write music that’s amazing from both a songwriting standpoint and a TikTok one, which is quite the skill to have in 2024,” he remarked. Recorded at Trend Def Studios and mixed and mastered by Mike himself, Me And You showcases the seamless synergy between two talented artists, leaving a lasting impression on listeners worldwide.
Mike Gonsolin is a multifaceted musician, producer, and mixing engineer from California’s Bay Area. Integral in propelling contemporary hip-hop to mainstream prominence, Mike G began his musical journey as a teenager, honing his skills with a hard rock band. Fueled by a passion for songwriting that outpaced his resources, he established his own studio at a young age, venturing into hip-hop production and beat-making. Upon relocating to Los Angeles in 2010, Mike G swiftly made his mark, collaborating with an array of major artists, including Snoop Dogg, Playboi Carti, Migos and T-Pain, along with renowned producers and film projects.
