THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “More than 45 years after releasing their ground-breaking debut Damned Damned Damned, The Damned return with Darkadelic. The 12th studio album from the band that launched punk finds them once again innovating and expanding upon their unique universe.

Darkadelic features some of The Damned’s sharpest songwriting and genre-bending performances. The Invisible Man is a showcase for Captain Sensible’s riffadelic guitarwork and David Vanian’s snarling baritone vocals. Other tracks such as You’re Gonna Realise and Beware Of The Clowns are drenched in classic horror movie references, nods to swinging ’60s London and a refined palette of musical influences. Suffic to say The Damned are painting the world Darkadelic in 2023.

Since their formation in 1976, The Damned have remained one of the most groundbreaking bands coming out of the ’70s British punk rock scene. With a slate of studio albums and U.K. chart singles, they are pioneers who rose from London to earn an ever-expanding global fan base fueled by legendary live shows. Vanian’s dark lyrics rich baritone vocals also catapulted The Damned to the forefront of the goth genre.”
