The rising Blackburn alt-rockers make a fine first impression with their wiry debut EP.

THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Blackburn alt-rock quartet The Ruby Tuesdays’ debut EP Food For Thought serves up a blistering batch of gritty instrumentation and powerful vocal arrangements, fusing past and present influences to create an outstanding rock anthems.

The title Food For Thought is a lyric from one of the EP’s tracks and reflects truly what the disc represents for the band. Each track is a different branch of the band’s core alt-rock sound and chronicles a journey of change throughout their lyrics. Although it’s only a five-track set, it seems destined to help them break to a wider audience. The EP was recorded at Red City Recordings by David Radahd-Jones (Death Blooms, Jordan Allen, Boston Manor).

The Ruby Tuesdays are a rapidly growing force in the scene, having ripped up their hometown scene and expanding their fan base nationwide. Their debut single Who You Running From reached over 20,000 streams within the first week of its release. The band’s sophomore single Rivers of Gold landed at No. 5 on the U.K.’s official vinyl singles chart and debuted on ITV alongside a live performance and interview with the band. All of this was done completely independently, before their got the help of a label or management.”
