This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):
THE MAIN EVENT: Fans of indie-rock kings Guided By Voices are already familiar with leader Robert Pollard’s laissez-faire, ADD approach to songwriting.
Now they can experience it in video form — Some Drinking Implied, the latest GBV DVD, is a 65-minute episode of Short Attention Span Theatre that jumpcuts willy-nilly between performance clips, rare and unreleased videos, backstage footage, high-school home movies and very twisted locker-room pep-talks by a babbling drinking buddy named Geo.
EXTRAS! EXTRAS! Nothing whatsoever — and why would there be? The whole thing is pretty much one giant outtake to begin with.
