Carly Reirson dances in the sky with the Northern Lights in her new single Aurora — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.
The first single from the Alberta singer-songwriter’s upcoming album, Diary Of A Beating Heart, Aurora is a soothing, atmospheric folk song about one of nature’s heavenly beauties. Written by Reirson and produced by multiple award-winning producer Murray Pulver, the track features rolling guitar and poetic lyrics that invite listeners to wrap themselves up in the warm tones and smooth melodies of the song.
“Growing up in the Alberta prairies, I was always captivated by the Northern Lights,” Reirson says. “With the guitar motif already written, the imagery that the Aurora Borealis conjured up in my mind came easily. Working with Murray, we were able to capture the magic of the music and lyrics to create a track with timeless sound and universal appeal.”
Universal appeal is nothing new for her. Born and raised in Leduc, AB, Reirson captivates audiences with her soaring melodies and honest lyrics. Whether it is love or heartache, Reirson’s bittersweet songs take you on a journey through the world of human emotion. Inspired by artists such as Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles and Rose Cousins, her smooth, yet edgy voice brings you face to face with your own feelings as she shares her stories of love, loss and loneliness.
She first made her mark on the national music scene in 2017 with her debut EP Fantasy. The project received two nominations at the 2017 Calgary Music Awards for Blues Recording of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. In 2018, her single Crooner Sing To Me won the YYCMA Award for Blues Recording of the Year. No stranger to the stage, Reirson has played over 100 shows to date, including five headlining tours throughout Western Canada.
Reirson has spent the last six years immersed in songwriting, penning the tracks for Diary Of A Beating Heart. Thanks to her ability to connect with audiences, Reirson’s upcoming songs continue to showcase her passion for vulnerability in her music. “Emotions are universal, and I believe that my songs can be a voice-piece to those who may not know how to put their feelings into words,” she says. “People so often look to music to express themselves and find meaning for their life. I feel a responsibility to share my story in the hopes that it can serve others as they search for connection with themselves and those around them.”
