BLVDS Can See It From Two Sides

The Montana duo embrace their dual influences on their new hybrid single.

BLVDS spotlight both halves of their musical personality on their dynamic and distinctive new single Two Sides — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

With their bold hybrid of synthwave and metallic modern rock elements, the Montana duo are poised to make waves in the electronic music scene. Featuring Ryan Hayes (formerly of heavy metal band Righteous Vendetta) and Jake Goldberg (previously a member of alt-rock band Alder Lights), BLVDS bring a distinctive perspective to modern synthwave, with a sound as unique and innovative as the state they call home.

They continue to redefine genre boundaries Two Sides, an evocative mix of sonic and stylistic elements that call to mind acts like The Midnight, Dayseeker and Dance With The Dead. Fusing brooding undertones with an electrifying energy, Two Sides aims to captivate listeners from the first note.

The song began in mid-2024 as an instrumental piece accompanied by a scratch vocal demo. Initially, the track’s direction didn’t align with the evolving vision of the band. A few months later, BLVDS revisited the composition with fresh perspectives, making subtle yet impactful musical changes. The result was a reimagined track that not only defined their sonic identity but also embraced their dual influences.

Two Sides is a track that from the very beginning captured two sides of the band’s songwriting,” says Hayes. “Coming from the metal genre for 15 years of my career definitely still influences the way I write today, and this song married both the synthwave and metal stylings I am particularly familiar with.”

To further elevate the song, BLVDS enlisted the powerhouse talents of Righteous Vendetta for a metal-inspired feature that complements the track’s darker tones. The result is a bold, genre-blending masterpiece that showcases the versatility and creativity of BLVDS.
