From Japan 3 contains songs with various expressions, from Tempalay’s biggest hits to tracks that have become staples in live performances and a few hidden masterpieces. Some songs have been rearranged significantly. For the jacket artwork, graphic artist and art director Yoshirotten created a collage of Kazuo Umezu’s works, which the members have long respected, creating a psychedelic atmosphere typical of Tempalay.
Tempalay are a three-piece band that resonates with the psychedelic pop of the 2010s and beyond, pioneering a new realm of Japanese psychedelia. Ayato Obara, the vocalist/guitarist responsible for the songwriting, Natsuki Fujimoto, the drummer who is also doing solo activities, and AAAMYYY, the synthesizer/chorus, brought together their ideas to create a song that surpasses the listener’s imagination. Drawing a mysterious trajectory, their catchy melodies and colorful rhythms will not leave your head. The essence of their music transcends time and borders.
