Alec Chambers Explains Why He Thinks Ed Sheeran’s A Dick

The singer-guitarist’s latest viral hit is really a love song disguised as a diss track.

Alec Chambers lovingly lambastes a certain ginger superstar with his lighthearted single and lyric video Ed Sheeran’s A Dick — showcasing today on Tinnitist.

The Connecticut singer-songwriter’s new viral hit — which already has millions of social media views — finds Chambers complaining that his girlfriend wants to leave him for the red-headed stranger. Even so, much as he wants to hate Sheeran’s music, he can’t help but find it catchy — and ends up becoming a fan himself. Not that Chambers is any slouch when it comes to crafting catchy pop: Ed Sheeran’s A Dick boasts a bouncy beat and arrives armed with an instant-earworm hook.

“When I first posted this song on TikTok, I had no idea what the initial reaction would be,” Chambers commented. “I knew it might be difficult to win over the Ed fans, but when they hear the rest of the song they will realize what this actually is — a love song disguised as a diss track.”

Ed Sheeran’s A Dick is just the latest offering from the prolific 27-year-old singer-songwriter. In addition to his parodies and reinterpretations of popular music — such as his iconic performance of Halsey’s Without Me — he is also acclaimed for his original music. Offering a seamless blend of smooth vocals and bedroom-pop beats, Chambers has created a signature sound that his dedicated following knows and loves, garnering streams and views in the tens of millions, along with a rabid, fast-growing audience. Most recently he released Dark Can Be Beautiful and Blood On My Hands, further showcasing his versatility as a songwriter, vocalist and musician.

While nurturing an intimate connection with his fans, Alec has been writing and recording with respected creators across the musical spectrum, including Larzz Principato (Dua Lipa, Halsey, Oh Honey, Lovely The Band), Ido Zmishlany (Shawn Mendes, Imagine Dragons), Stavros (AJ Mitchell) and Jonah Shai (Chelsea Cutler, Dermot Kennedy). It’s just the beginning for this rising artist, who recently starred on Song House Live — a reality show about eight musical influencers competing for a record deal — and toured with hip-hop wonder Rod Wave.
