THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “We’ve come to expect big things from Liam Gallagher, but this is biblical even by his colossal standards. Not only has he released his third album C’mon You Know, a disc practically guaranteed to earn him another #1 U.K. record — he’s also dropped Down By The River Thames, the official version of a livestream concert presented in London during the pandemic.
The 14-song C’mon You Know follows the huge success of Liam’s previous studio albums As You Were (2017) and Why Me? Why Not. (2019), which established his iconic status for a whole new generation. His MTV Unplugged live release also went straight to the top of the album chart. Between his triumphs as a solo artist and his phenomenal success with Oasis, Liam has spent a combined total of almost six months at No. 1 across 11 chart-topping albums.
Down By The River Thames, meanwhile, captures a 16-song outdoor concert performed in the shadow of London’s Tower Bridge in December 2020, with a set list drawn from Gallagher’s solo work and his Oasis days. “So here it is, the gig they said we could never pull off!” Gallagher says. “As we were in lockdown, bored and depressed, rock ‘n’ roll came to save the day once again. It was a top night and a top gig and it’s captured here on record for you to all enjoy.”
