Concerts are coming back in a big way. At least for the moment. In case you haven’t noticed, about 70 bajillion acts have announced they’re heading back out on the road this summer. But let’s face it: Announcing the show is the easy part. Not so easy: Figuring out the logistics and legalities of cramming tens of thousands of people into arenas and stadiums again — assuming any or all of these tours don’t end up getting postponed and/or cancelled yet again. Civil rights, vaccine passports, insurance liabilities — these are just some of the big questions that need to be answered. But world-class publicist Eric Alper (who already has tickets for the upcoming Genesis tour) and I just need five minutes to break it down for you on today’s episode of Sonic Reducers. Join us as we discuss some of the umpteen tours announced today, ponder the realities of watching a show in a facemask, and debate whether it’s better to live or die for rock ’n’ roll. Sonic Reducers: One topic. Two music nerds. Five minutes. Everything you need to know.
