THE EDITED PRESS RELEASE: “Lemonteeth aka David Arthur & Matt Kern are a songwriting duo who do things their own way. Having started making music from their bedrooms in Glasgow and gone on to record alongside legendary Killers producer Stuart Price in the Jim Henson Studios in Los Angeles, they have never stopped honing their craft.
From living in caravans to escaping high-speed car crashes, their nomadic existence has gone hand in hand with their music making. Inspired by living in a fast-food culture society and wanting to exist and live in a more meaningful way, their songs bristle with energy and intrigue, sharing an earthiness and rhythmic texture with the likes of early Santana, Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks, Blur’s Out of Time, Jose Gonzales, Tom Waits Real Gone album and the intimacy and all empowering stature of The National.
“We’re all out there in the ring fighting our own individual battles every day, but sometimes you just need to surrender to what is and say ‘Fuck it,’ crack the top off a cold one and watch a documentary on how to survive an Alaskan winter, even if you’ll never have to.”
