I am one of those folks who would pay good money to listen to Nick Cave sing a software end-user license agreement. So it’s even better to see him deliver a solo piano-ballad rendition of the T. Rex classic Cosmic Dancer as part of The Late Late Show With James Corden’s week-long celebration of the new Marc Bolan tribute album AngelHeaded Hipster. The downside of that, of course, is that everything else kind of pales in comparison. Which is not to diss Chika’s motivational medley of High Rises and Crown on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon — or country rocker Hardy’s muscular performance of Ain’t A Bad Day on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s YouTube page. It’s just that for my money, it’s pretty tough to top Nick Cave singing T. Rex, you know. Maybe the others should try tackling that software end-user license agreement and see how it goes.
