Late-Night TV Music (Double Duty Edition) | June 16, 2020

Jason Isbell & Black Pumas prove once is not enough — unless you're Rita Wilson.

There’s more than one way to double up. Take it from Black Pumas and Jason Isbell, who took two different approaches to the problem on the latest episode of Late-Night TV Music. Singer-guitarist Isbell and his 400 Unit favour putting all their eggs in one basket by delivering two songs — Running With Our Eyes Closed and Overseas — for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night. On the other hand, Austin’s Black Pumas spread the love around, following up Monday’s Tonight Show appearance with a performance of their inclusive Colors on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Finally, there are some artists who are better off making a single appearance — which brings us to Rita Wilson’s rendition of Where’s My Country Song? on The Late Late Show With James Corden. In her case, once is more than enough.
