Another month, another female Australian singer-songwriter on the come-up from Down Under. But even if indie-rock Madeleine Jane Woolley — aka Maddy Jane — is the latest in a fairly long line of artists, she stands out from the pack thanks to the no-frills songwriting, grounded lyrics and endearing drawl she puts to good use on this impressive 11-song debut. Not bad at all.
