Late-Night TV Music (Ladies’ Night Edition) | Sept. 9, 2019

Sheryl Crow, Trisha Yearwood, Charlotte Day Wilson & Banks brought it on Monday.

Ladies’ night might be a weekly thing at your local watering hole, but on the talk-show music scene, it only happens every now and then. Thankfully, Monday was one of those times. The festivities began with Sheryl Crow, tearing through a cover of Bob Dylan’s Everything Is Broken (from her new collaborative album Threads) with the help of Jason Isbell on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Staying on the rootsy side of the street, Trisha Yearwood showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live with two songs from her latest album Every Girl: The sorta-title track Every Girl in This Town and the power ballad Workin’ on Whiskey. Speaking of work, Canadian singer-songwriter and keyboardist Charlotte Day Wilson continued working her soulful single Work on The Late Late Show With James Corden. And finally, popster Banks enlisted a string section for her track Contaminated on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. All in all, not bad for a Monday night.
