Late-Night TV Music (2/3 Edition) | July 18, 2019

Robyn and Spoon bring it on Thursday's talk shows; The JoBros, not so much.

As the one and only Meat Loaf taught us so many years ago, two out of three ain’t bad. That was certainly true of Thursday’s late-night TV musical lineup. On the plus side of the equation, you had beloved Austin indie-rockers Spoon unveiling their excellent new number No Bullets Spent on Jimmy Kimmel Live — and Swedish dance-pop queen Robyn delivering an exuberant, fun-filled medley of Between the Lines and Love Is Free on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (who continues to look alarmingly worse for wear with each passing day). On the down side? The Jonas Brothers, doing their white-boy reggae-pop ditty Only Human for Late Night with Seth Meyers. In a word: Ick. Where’s Meat Loaf when you really need him?
