Brandy ZDAN | Pink Lipstick: Exclusive Video Premiere

The Nashville rocker shuts you up & shuts you down on her rip-roarin' single.

Brandy ZDAN kicks your mansplaining ass with her gold boots while rocking hot Pink Lipstick in her pugnacious and potent new single and video — premiering exclusively on Tinnitist.

On her second rip-roarin’ single in as many months — and the lastest preview of a long-overdue new album due later this year — the Nashville-based Canadian rock goddess and musical polymath comes out swinging and pulls no punches. Standing her ground in the post-punk terrain that has become her recent comfort zone, ZDAN unleashes with a chunky, chugging, charging anthem that straight comes for you full of riot grrrl swagger, with both middle fingers raised and no fucks given.

But this ain’t some one-dimensional basher: Along with all those crunchy guitars, punchy drums and slapback vocals — not to mention a fist-pumping chorus of “Don’t care what they say about me!” — Pink Lipstick ups the ante by incorprorating sleek throbbing / whistling synths, shifting time signatures, an inventive arrangement and sharp-eared production from ZDAN herself.

And just to be clear about that chorus: By ‘they,’ she probably means you, bro. “I wrote this for all the dudes who feel the need to point out the obvious about guitar or recording just so they can look like they know more than you, or the ones who act like gods just cause they play guitar,” says ZDAN. “It’s such a drag.”

For those who aren’t up to speed on ZDAN, here’s her bio: Brandy ZDAN (zuh-dan) is a Canadian artist and record producer based in Nashville. After two Juno nominations and yearsas a session player and touring guitarist with acts like The Trishas, ZDAN has carved out a solo career, channeling riot-grrrl attitude, post-punk grit and anthems that refuse to be ignored. She is also quickly making her name as a sought-out record producer with her dark and raw sensibility, approach of serving the song, and creating a sonic palette unique to the artists she works with, as heard on her latest work with Oh Boy! Records artist Emily Scott Robinson, Wild Ponies and Heather Mae.
