forts is a really special song to me,” Genevieve shares. “It encapsulates this sadness, nostalgia, and regret I was feeling about growing up.” This self-produced track emotionally reflects on the fine line between the harsh reality of growing up and childhood memories. “I was really grappling with how growing up changes people and their relationships with themselves and others. What are the things we remember? What do we do with the nostalgic dissonance between the memory of childhood and the reality of childhood?”

Born in Boston and raised in New York, Michigan, and Bermuda, Genevieve has always been one for the arts. She started singing, acting, and dancing at a young age, her college years were what pushed her to pursue writing and sharing her music. She made a name for herself back when her single I Like You (I Think) dropped in 2022, followed by the track tongue tied later that year. Her first few projects were created to share with her friends and family, however, she took the initial spark of passion and ran with it to perfect her producing skills.
