The first one is a rapper. The other is a turntablist. Together, Minnesota hip-hop duo Eyedea And Abilities are more than the sum of their parts.
And their third album E&A is an ear-catching confluence of art, intelligence and entertainment reminiscent of Canada’s own Peanuts And Corn crew. Eyedea brings a smooth flow, earthy lyrics with common-sense messages and enough showmanship to craft a chorus; Abilities supplies the hypnotic grooves, the nimble-fingered scratching and smartly integrated samples. One listen is all it takes to know that Eyeda And Abilities have plenty of both to spare.
