Classic Album Review: Error | Error

The punk supergroup are also a super-heavy group on this debut EP.

This came out in 2004 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

Psst: Heads up, music geeks. L.A.’s Error features Bad Religion guitarist (and Epitaph honcho) Brett Gurewitz, Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato, ex-NINer Atticus Ross and his little bro Leo.

Can somebody say supergroup? Now can somebody say super-freaking-heavy group? This self-titled EP is a blistering blast of digital hardcore a la Atari Teenage Riot, Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy. The thwacking beatboxes, the bass-synth melodies, the primal-screech vocals, the sinister interludes and even the cover of 999’s Homicide are all enough to either bring Trent Reznor out of hiding — or send him back into his hole. Either way, make no mistake; these guys are on to something.
