Classic DVD Review: R.E.M. | In View: The Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003

If you really need to see a bunch of the Georgia rockers' vids, now's your chance.

This came out in 2003 – or at least that’s when I got it. Here’s what I said about it back then (with some minor editing):

A couple of dozen videos from their last seven albums, two new clips for All the Way To Reno and the End Of The World rewrite Bad Day, three live songs from a recent London performance, and a few interview snippets. Sigh. Does this compilation disc from Georgia alt-rock giants R.E.M. live up to its title? I guess. But that doen’t really make it any more essential. If you really need to see the clips for Losing My Religion, Stand and What’s The Frequency, Kenneth? again, now’s your chance. As for me, I’ll go watch my scratchy old Betamax tape of their 1983 Late Show With David Letterman appearance instead.
